[Day 9] – Banana bread or bust

May 9th – Day 9

Today’s Recipe:

 

  • 1 handful Kale
  • pexels-photo-109341.jpeg2 cups mixed berries
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Banana
  • Agave syrup, to taste

Smoothie Timeline:

  • Smoothie 1 – 11a
  • Smoothie 2 – 3p
  • Smoothie 3 – 11p

Reflections:

Today, I felt so… lifted.  Like, you know how you board a plane on a cloudy day, then as your flight ascends above the clouds, everything is clear and bright?  That “above-the-cloud” feeling is how I felt yesterday: productive, nice, creative.

Apparently there’s some confusion about the difference between a detox, a cleanse, and a fast.  I’m in this thing for 90 days, so I’ll be phasing through all three.  I’ll have another
post to go more in-depth on the difference, but for right now, just know that I’m detoxing.

I’m using the smoothie recipes in the book below to support the detoxifying functions of my body.  They will be phased out (not completely) as I develop the Food Discipline to stay away from so much of what I don’t need, and as I adopt a more plant-based diet.

I’ve almost eliminated dairy and sugars, but as long as my aunt keeps making this banana bread, I will keep eating it.

Lessons Learned:

As long as I start my day off with 2 cups of water and a cup of tea, maybe 2, then I’m not too hungry until close to dinner time.  The smoothies are perfect during the day.

Then for dinner, like tonight, I’ll bake some sweet potatoes and veggie burgers with some of the approved dressings from Dr. Sebi’s Nutritional Guide, like kale, tomatoes, and cucumber.
